    RectifHyd

    DATASET 10.5281/zenodo.6607825

    Published:
Authors: Nelson, Kristian, Sean Turner and Voisin, Nathalie
    Institution: Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

RectifHyd provides estimated monthly hydroelectric power generation for approximately 1,500 power plants in conterminous United States for the period 2001 through 2020. Monthly generation estimates are created by disaggregating each plant’s annual generation with the aid of reservoir operations and downstream streamflow data. RectifHyd provides an alternative to EIA-923 imputed monthly generation for U.S. hydropower plants.

    U.S. Non-Powered Dam Characteristics Inventory

    DATASET ZIP 10.21951/US_NPD_Characteristics/1860464

    Published:
Authors: Carly H. Hansen, Christopher R. Derolph, Forest D. Carter and Scott T. DeNeale
    Institution: Oak Ridge National Laboratory

The U.S. Non-Powered Dam (NPD) Characteristics Inventory contains data from various sources, including identifiers, locations, and a wide variety of characteristics. These characteristics included describe US NPDs and their surroundings, including attributes related to the physical nature or design of a dam, environmental conditions, safety conditions, socioeconomic aspects, and hydropower development potential. Data may be […]

Dayflow: CONUS Daily Streamflow Reanalysis, Version 1

    DATASET TXT, CSV 10.21951/Dayflow/1847639

    Published:
Authors: Carly H. Hansen, Debjani Singh, Ganesh R. Ghimire, Peter E. Thornton, Shih-Chieh Kao and Sudershan Gangrade
    Institution: Oak Ridge National Laboratory

Dayflow Version 1 (V1) is a historical streamflow reanalysis dataset reconstructed for 36 years (1980-2015). The dataset provides both daily and monthly scale streamflow information at about 2.7 million NHDPlusV2 stream reaches in the conterminous US (CONUS). Dayflow is the result of a nationally scalable modeling framework that integrates the simulated runoff from the Variable […]

Environmental and Power System Outcomes Connectivity Linkage Maps

    DATASET XLSX, HTML 10.21951/EnergyEnvironmentLinkages/1860469

    Published:
Authors: Brenda M Pracheil, Carly H. Hansen, Danielle Perrot, Gerad Freeman, Karen Studarus, Konstantinos Oikonomou, Kristine Moody, Shaun Carney and Vishvas Chalishazar
Institution: Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and RTI International

Understanding how flexibility in environmental requirements can facilitate co-optimization of hydropower production outcomes and environmental outcomes is critical for future grid decision-making and operations as renewable energy resources increase. The environmental and power system outcomes connectivity linkage maps presented here provide a framework for conceptually and quantitatively linking power system outcomes to environmental outcomes through […]
