The HydroSource Data Explorer (HDE) is a web based geospatial application that allows users to explore and download hydropower-related authoritative geospatial datasets that are housed on HydroSource. These datasets have been created from diverse sources and are available at varying spatio-temporal scales which can be used for integrated energy, water and ecosystem analysis. Such access to data and analytical capabilities will help inform a well-designed, long-term research strategy to support the maintenance and expansion of the U.S. hydropower fleet and identify ways how hydropower can contribute to improved grid reliability, resilience, and integration.
