Dayflow: CONUS Daily Streamflow Reanalysis, Version 2

Download Information

Dayflow

Dataset Overview

The Dayflow V2 dataset provides simulated hourly streamflow information for approximately 2.7 million NHDPlusV2 stream reaches across the conterminous US (CONUS). Multiple historic rainfall products such as Daymet, PRISM, Stage-IV, AORC, and their hybrids are used to drive a nationally scalable modeling framework based on the Variable Infiltration Capacity (VIC) hydrologic model and the Routing Application for Parallel computatIon of Discharge (RAPID) routing model. DayflowV2 includes streamflow data with (Assimilated) and without (Naturalized) streamflow assimilation at US Geological Survey (USGS) streamflow monitoring sites. A comprehensive evaluation is also conducted at over 7,000 USGS stream gauges and included in the dataset. For further details, refer to Ghimire et al. (2023), Oubeidillah et al. (2014), and Naz et al. (2016).

Data Coverage:

Previous version (V1): The initial dataset provided daily streamflow reanalysis based on DaymetV3 from 1980 to 2015 (36 years). This dataset is also a part of V2.

NEW in V2: The streamflow reanalysis is now provided in hourly time steps. Additionally, multiple historic rainfall products such as Daymet, PRISM, Stage-IV, AORC, and their hybrids are used to derive streamflow reanalyses. The dataset is available for variable periods: 40 years (1980-2019) for AORC and its hybrids and 18 years (2002-2019) for Stage-IV and its hybrids.
